52 Weeks of Dogs: A Personal Project

52 Weeks of Dogs is a personal project I came up with after losing my sweet baby girl of 14 years, last fall.  After digging through all of her photographs I realized I didn’t have any photos with her, or any of her with my kids.  It’s been one of the hardest things knowing that I will never get that time back.  To help myself grieve, I want to give you the one thing that I wish I had more than anything: a photo of you with your dog.  So many times we don’t include our fur babies because of time, stress, etc., well not this time! Another thing I have learned over all my years of working with pets, and their families is that they all have a story to tell.  This year’s personal project is to help families tell those stories and capture their love.

Here’s what you need to know.

In 2019 my goal is to photograph at least 52 dogs in 52 weeks!

First thing is you will need to do is email me with your dog’s photo and I will send you over the application questionnaire to complete. Please be sure to answer all questions as completely as possible. I will be selecting pups with unique stories; these can be anything from an adoption story, a crazy talent, or maybe even an award winning moment, the sky is the limit so don’t be afraid to tell me your story!

I am traveling all over the US in 2019 to photograph dogs and their families that are selected to participate, so don’t let your location be the reason you don’t apply!  Please check out my Facebook page for travel updates throughout the year.

If you are selected you will receive a FREE Life Style Portrait Session of your Dog and your family, a 8×12 fine art print of your favorite image, as well as your story being told on my blog and social media pages. The only requirement is that you give me permission to share your story and your images.

In each lifestyle portrait session, I capture the moments that you don’t get to see, because you are in the photos as well. You’ll be delighted and possibly even surprised to see the enamored glances, playful movements, and heart-warming cuddles you share.

Each participant will have a Reveal Session about 4-6 weeks after their session. We will meet at my studio, if you are local, or via online virtual meeting.  At this session you will get to see a set of fully edited images from your dog’s session.  At this session you will have the option to purchase gallery art, albums, or prints, however a purchase is not required to participate in the project.

Thank you for being part of this project and I cannot wait to hear your story!

Know someone who loves their dog more than anything? Please share this project with them!

The Process

Step #1 – Email me a photo of your Dog.  This starts the process rolling! Once I receive the photo, I will send over the application questionnaire.

Step #2 – Please fill out the questionnaire as thoroughly as possible.  I will be using the questionnaire to select the participants of this special project.  Incomplete questionnaires will not be considered.

Step #3 – If you are selected to be part of the project; I will contact you regarding your application and send you information about scheduling your session.

Step #4 – Please arrive on time and ready to go for your scheduled session.  I may be completing multiple sessions on the same day, so it is important to be on time.

Step #5 – About 4-6 weeks after your session, I will contact you to schedule your Reveal Session.  This will take place either in my studio, if local, or online via zoom.

Step #6 – The Reveal!  This is my favorite part of any session; the day you get to see your images!  You will have around 15-20 images to view. At this time you can purchase Gallery Art, Albums, and Prints from your session, however there is no requirement to purchase any images.

Displaying your images

When your session is over, it’s time to decide where you are going to put your photos and what will look best in your home. With a huge selection of products there is something for everyone and every space in your home or office.   Have you thought about how you want to display your images?  I can help you decide!

NOLA Wedding Photography Experience

It was a chilly, rain-soaked day filled with fog, but I was thrilled to be in New Orleans.
